  1. We came to Fish Lake for Labor Day weekend with family and stayed in Moose Hollow. It was nice to have 5 married couples and other adults and children there together under one roof. There were 17 of us all together, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time together. We rented a pontoon for the day from the Fish Lake Lodge marina, and caught a lot of fish all day Monday. The man that helped us at the marina even helped us clean our fish after we were done for the day. He was so helpful and taught us how to thread a worm on the hook before we went out the second time. We caught a lot our first time out, but caught many more after he taught us his trick. It was nice the cabin was so close to the lake. We took walkie talkies and would talk from the cabin to those in the boat. We could reach them wherever we were on the lake. We loved that there were 2 tables in the large kitchen so we were able to easily cook for all of our group, and had a large area to sit and eat. The cupboards were fully stocked with all the bowls, silverware, utensils, and pots and pans we would possibly need for whatever we were cooking. It was also fun to go out on the deck and spend time. We were so close to the lake and it had a beautiful view.

We took hikes around the lake and had fun watching the fishermen and skipping stones in the lake. Capitol Reef National Park is so close, they said 38 miles away, that we planned to go there one of the days to go hiking. Maybe next time because we had so much fun at Fish Lake we didn't want to leave.

It was nice having 5 bedrooms (3 king beds and 6 queen beds) and 4 bathrooms. The beds were comfortable, and we enjoyed that each bedroom had its own TV/DVD player. The kids were able to spend time in the rooms watching movies, and at night we would hang out in the family room because it had a large flat screen TV with DVD player, surround sound, and satellite in addition to having a huge U shaped leather couch. We sure enjoyed a place that our large group could sit together and all fit. We loved watching movies and talking in there and even turned on the gas fireplace to warm up a little if the nights got chilly.

We were happy there are 2 different restaurants right there to choose from, and 3 different small stores that stock a few items people sometimes forget. It was a great trip. We definitely plan on going back and booking Moose Hollow again.

We also looked at Elderberry cabin which has 4 bedrooms (2 king beds and 2 queen beds) and 2 bathrooms with leather couches also. If we came with a smaller group, we would probably stay there.

  2. This cabin is quite literally the embodiment of my childhood. I don't know what I would do if I didn't have the chance to go here every year.
